Show Chamber of Commerce Revived As New Organization is Completed The Panguitch Chamber of Commerce has been revived by an enthusiastic group of Panguitch merchants under the leadership of Rick Burningham, president; Jim Blake, ' ,ce president and Grace lienfield, secretary-treasurer. Plans are being made to help bring unity to the community for future growth and progress of the city Many ideas were discussed at the meeting to determine what the members felt were the most important projects to proceed on now and in the future. Committees will be formulated, which will act as the backbone of the chamber. The number of committees will be determined by the number of projects considered by the group. Because the chamber of commerce is urging every person in the city to join, individuals as well as businessmen, the dues this year will be $10 per member or business Floyd Nuttall is in charge of the membership drive with Charles Allen and Jon Torgerson and Mark Johnson serving on the committee. They will contact every business In town and also any individual that would like to join. Persons not contacted may call one of the officers or membership committee. "The success of the Panguitch Chamber of Com-jmerce depends on the en-jthusiasm and effort of the members," Burningham stated. Panguitch City Manager Bruce Fullmer and coun oilmen Charles Allen and Jon Torgerson were present and became members. Mr. Fullmer requested a member of the chamber of commerce to be on the Race Track Committee, Lowell V. Henrie Jr was assigned. Pamphlets stressing the area was discussed, Tours for rockhounds, ghost towns, geologists, nature lovers and a walking tour inside Panguitch City were considered. The possibility of having a carnival in Panguitch to earn money for the chamber was discussed. Placing signs throughout the state telling the mileage to Panguitch was suggested. Places of concern were Highway 20 and 89; Highway 89 and State Highway 12, at the junction of Bryce Canyon; Highway 89 and turnoff at Cove Fort, Highway 89 and In terstate 15 at Lcvan; and also Interstate 15 and State I lighway 20. "This is beautiful country, the scenery is breathtaking. This beauty and the historical culture of the area should be presented to the people so they will be able to enjoy their visit here.
