Show Garfield Savings Bonds Sales 3,988 in March Purchases of United States Series E-H Savings Bonds by Utahn's during the first quarter of 1976 topped totals for the same period a year ago by over 12 million dollars State Volunteer Bond Chairman, W. E. Cile and Utah's 1976 "Take Stock in America" Chairman, John E. Lattin announced Jointly today, Department of the Treasury figures released today by Gile and Lattin credited Utahn's with an Investment of $4,559,989 In E-H Savings Bonds for the month of March, the highest record of March sales in Saviings Bonds history. Total to-date sales amounts to $8,725,309 or 27 percent of Utah's assigned goal of $32,500,000. Department of Treasury figures announced today by Garfield County Volunteer Chairman Eugene Overfelt, District Chairman, credited ths residents of Garfield county with $3,988 invested In March. Beaver and Emery Counties exceeded 100 percent of goal, eighteen counties topped 30 percent and the balance of the State's twenty nine counties were above 10 percent. Nationally, Americans bought more Series E Bonds in the first quarter of 1976 than in any quarter since 1945, while the January-March purchases of Series E-H Bonds amounted to $20 billion highest on record since the H Bond was first issued in 1952.
