Show Southern Utah Education Assn. Names 1976-7 Slate Members of the Southern Utah Educators Association have selected a Delta, elementary school teacher to head their organization. William D. Dutson, a promient educator, was selected as President-Elect for the 1976-77 school year by a mail ballot. In releasing the election results President Thelma Whittaker, from Circlevllle, Piute School District, noted that 81 percent of the 1272 members voted. Also elected to serve in positions on the board of directors of the association were: Robert Goulding, Clr-cleville, Piute District and Gwen Hunter, Fillmore, Millard District. The election of Mr. Goulding and Mrs. Hunter will represent their first term of office on the board. Serving as president of the association for the 1976-77 school year will be Ron Ferguson, a high school teacher at South Sevier High School in Sevier District. Mr. Ferguson was elected to that position in last years elections. Other members of the board of directors who are serving holdover terms are: Barbara Nielson, Millard District, Carol Penney, Kane District and Keith Langston from the San Jinn District Ed Leigh from Iron District and Donna Peterson from Garfield District will retire from the board after serving for the past two years. The association's 1272 members are from the 16 school districts in Southern Utah plus the Sevier Valley Tech School in Richfield. In terms of geographical boundaries the area represents over half the State of Utah. |
