Show Garfield County 4-H Clubs Now Organized "Utah's enrollment in the 4-H program totals 34,015 youths," announced Gerald Olson, Utah State University 4-H , super-visor. Of that number, 20,412 are girls and 13,603 are boys. The Garfield 4-H clubs are just being enrolled for this year, Catherine Barney of the Home Extension Office stresses the need for mere leaders. There are a lot of members that want to take 4-H but have no leaders, she emphasized. If anyone Is interested in leading a group contact the extension office at 676-2201. "Although the 4-H program In the state has been growing rapidly In the metropolitan areas, the majority of the students involved in 4-H still come from farms and towns of less thin 10,(80 population," Dr. t Olson reports. Approximately 20,000 of the total are from these areas. There are currently 3,050 organized 4-H Clubs and 504 special interest units in activity, Garfield County had 99 organized clubs. The total of adult leaders in Utah Is 4,106 -940 males and 3,166 females and 857 junior and teen leaders. Garfield has 86 leaders and 19 junior leaders.
