Show Panguitch Patter Jerrie Fackrell 676-2706 More ot the summer residence have come back to the Panguitch area. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Rice, Nevada; Frank and Vivian Kovachevich, after their winter ventures; the Bud Bowmans, the Rustic Lake Resort; lights were noticed on at the Lakeview Resort. This means all the resort owners around the lake are here getting ready for the opening of fishing season. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Riggs and daughters, Kathy and Martha Just returned from a 10-day vacation. They drove to and from Jacksonville, Fla. to visit their son and his wife, Fred and Rita Riggs and family. Kay Mangum was notified that he is among the ten top salesmen for the Utah Farm Bureau for Utah State. Monte and Cleo Marshall and Monte's brother, Thomas E. Marshall just returned from the 83rd Annual Convention of the Utah Pharmaceutical Association held in St. George Friday and Saturday. The Panguitch Chamber of Commerce welcomes Dolores and Mel Hagen, and children Edyie, 9th grade and Jerry, 5th grade to Panguitch as owners of the new Mel-O-Dee Drive Inn in the old Frostop building. Sherrie Owens, daughter of Glayd and Ruth Owens and Russel Bridges, son of Lucille and Don Bridges were married in Las Vegas, April 27. They will live in Panguitch where Sherrie will finish school and Russell is employed. A group of people spent five days at Lake Powell Bull Frog Mariana fishing and enjoying each others company. Those going were Mavis and Jon Torgerson, June and Vern Robison, Ann and Carl Farn-sworth, and Sandy and Wayne Holman. Yvette Edgington was in the Panguitch Hospital for a week. She is home and doing well now. Dayne Wilcock visited from Fountain Green and Tonya and David Christensen and children from Kanab visited Gal and Ralph Wilcock over the weekend. Judy Gal and Lamond Davis went to Salt Lake City to pick up their daughter, Tamera to visit them. Mrs. Earl (Eva) Marshall celebrated her 80th birthday. She enjoyed the visits from her family and over 123 friends that came to see her. Her sons and daughters attending her open house were Monte and Cleo Marshall, and their son, Mr. and Mrs. Tom T. Marshall and family; Earl and Evelyn Roe and daughters, Panguitch; Tom E. Marshall, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Egan, Provo; Barbara Willes and (laughter, Jaml, Orem, and her son Mr. and Mrs. Alan Black and baby, Provo; and Mr. and Mrs. Don Marshall, Provo. Thomas Earl Marshall, council commissioner of all handicap scouting in Great Salt Lake Council, son of W. E. Marshall, Panguitch was recently a recipiant of an award from Governor Rampton in behalf of his work with the handicap. He was given a letter of commendation and certificate and check for $500 to be used for the handicapped scouts. Mr. Marshall has had two articles appear in the "National Disabled Veteran's Magazine" on scouting for the handicapped and expects one to come out in the "Boy's Life" on the same subject. Mr. and Mrs. Don Marshall went to Europe this summer on assignment for the church magazines. One of his articles will come out in the June issue of "The Friend". Saturday, a family reunion was held at the home of Opal Nortoa All sons and daughters of the late William II. and Ethel Hatch Talbot were present. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Alton, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Talbot, Salina; Mr. & Mrs. Elis Talbot, Las Vegas; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Talbot, Mr. ana Mrs. Stanley Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Talbot, Opal Norton and Lida Owens, Panguitch. This was the first time in eight years the family has all been together. A turkey dinner was served and many pictures taken. Kelly Dix, FA, finished boot camp and is spending a month in Panguitch. Next week he will atend 10-weeks schooling as a boiler techno! igest in Great Lake, 111. Grace and Kern Owens spent an enjoyable week visiting their daughters and families in Mesa, Ariz., Calvin and Susan Aired and Gene and Kay Owens. Mrs. Grace Young went to Salt Lake City Saturday to meet her daughter, Theda Petterson from Mountain Home, Ida. and bring her back to Panguitch to spend a week. Before returning home Sunday they visited with James N. Young and family and the Warren Young Family. Wednesday, Annette Hatch, Washington, Utah and Helen Bird, Richfield spent the day with their motheer and sister. |
