As the Judge entered tho criminal -court building on his way to his chambers, Ellcrbrock, who was standing stand-ing in tho hallway, stepped forward and when but two feet distnnt drew a rovolver nnd fired at the Judge. Judge Cutting instantly turned and struck his assailant a heavy blow in the face, almost knocking him down.
