Creole shrimp with r.ce, Japanese salad with shrimp, and steamed clams are served to music, either stereo or player piano. Still encased in its original old Dutch brick, and seething with tall tales of how sailors were once shanghaied in the rooms upstairs, the Pad attracts its own band of faithful clients who often pack the place until the small hours of the morning. Out on Pier 16, the Seaport Galley, a short-ordshop, will insure against scurvy with modestly priced fish cutlets (80 cents), crab cutlets (85 cents) and fish and chips ($1.40.). All summer long the South Street Seaport Museum has scheduled e,arly evening entertainment, most of it on Pier 16. Sea chanteys are sung Tuesdays at seven, folk dancing is held Wednesdays at seven and square dancing Fridays at seven. Blue grs s concerts are also scheduled for some Fridays, and there are scattered musical events set, so far, evening every Saturday from the end of June until the end of July.
