five children They live in Fillmore York has been a Trooper for seven and a half years He has completed his ten week program in the Utah Police Officers Standards in Training His first assignment was in the Uinta Basin for six and a half years He was then sent to Evanston Wyoming for six months and now has been transferred to the Fillmore area and what he calls “home” His hobby is oil painting a hobby on which he hopes to improve Randy Ingram was bom and raised in Nephi Utah He is not married and he now lives in Fillmore He has been employed as a Utah State Trooper for two and one half years and he has completed a ten week program in the Utah Police Officers Standards in Training Randy was first assigned to the Kanab area Recently he was transferred to Fillmore Ingram says he finds Trooper Fillmore residents and its scenic beauty to his liking walks A wide variety of ranger-leand talks will begin on June 6 at Great Basin National Park Superintendent A1 Hendricks announced According to Hendricks the 1987 Superintendent summer program will include daily guided walks to the bristlecone pine forest on Wheeler Peak cave tours nightly campfire programs and other activities A detailed list is provided below Regular Cave Tours: Tours of Lehman Caves will be offered hourly 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday for a total of ten hours per day- On Saturdays and Sundays tours will be offered hourly from 8 m to S pm as well with the addition of tours on the half hour from 9:30 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 3:30 pm for a total of sixteen tours per day The Vi hours long tours are Walks: walks to the Daily ranger-lebristlecone pine forest on Wheeler Peak will be offered at pm starting June Because of lingering snow the first Delta and Fillmore Community Medical Centers Finding the emergency entrance to the Delta and Fillmore Community Medical Centers will be easier now that several large directional signs have been Mrs Debbie Shelley RN installed of Nursing at the Delta Director facility state that the hospitals had been concerned that some people unfamiliar with the area or hospital entrances might not notice the previous signs and might not find the emergency entrance when hurrying in for emergency treatment For this reason the hospital administration has gone to the effort and expense of increasing the size and number of directional signs to the emergency entrance This should be a help to both visitors to the area who need emergency help as well as to local residents who it has been noted sometimes have hurried past the older signs without noticing them The hospital administration also has been concerned about the appropriate use of the emergency centers of the Each hospital is staffed hospitals hours a day with nurses r who are trained in emergency care This is training has been extensive and ongoing For example all Registered Nurses at the hospital are certified and reHeart certified by the American Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) In addition one of the local physicians who are also trained in emergency care is always on call to handle emergencies The staff at the hospitals are very concerned that the people and supplies are in constant handle to appropriately readiness medical emergencies as they arise Great effort is made by the individuals responsible to achieve this state of saguaro the years effort has been expended to achieve the state of readiness required by a primary care facility He has been very complementary on how the nurses and other staff members have prepared themselves to handle emergency medical problems The administration and staff at the Delta and Fillmore Community Medical Centers stand ready to serve the people of this community in any way they can The hospitals hope that their facilities will be taken advantage of and their resources wisely used so that they can continue to provide for the health care needs of the people of the Millard County area the cactus Saturday night in the Wheeler Peak Campground walks: Ranger-leShort walks will be given on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 am Variety will be the key to these hikes Possible subjects range from Native American rock art to mining history Participants should meet at the Great Basin National Park Visitor Center In addition for the truly adventurous a all day activity is weekly ranger-lescheduled every Friday Possibilities clude climbing Wheeler Peak visiting the Lexington Arch or visiting a remote section of the park Participants in the all day activity should also meet at the Visitor Center and pack a lunch Hendricks reminds Superintendent prospective visitors to the park that all activities and campsites are available on a basis only with the exception of the spelunking tours Visitors should attempt to avoid busy holiday weekends as cave tours are limited to 30 persons per tour and it may not be possible to accomodate everyone During the week and on most other weekends activities rarely fill to capacity An open horseshow will be held on Saturday June 20 in conjunction with the Great Basin’s “Utah” Celebration The show is scheduled to take place in Mitch Myers arena beginning
