Folsom Tribune Garden Editor THE SERIOUS GARDENER will have much to interest him or her at The Salt Lake Tribune Spring Home and Garden Festival at the Salt Palace, Feb. 27, 28 and March 1 and 2. Hours are 2 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 27; 10 a m. to 9.30 p.m. Feb. 28; noon to 9:30 p.m. March 1; and noon to 7 p.m. on March 2. Larry Sagers, Utah State University Extension horticulturist and program chairman, has prepared lectures and demonstrations to assist you in every phase of gardening. There will be experts on hand to tell you how to prune, what to plant and how to plant. There will be pruning demonstrations, information on building a lawn, planting a vegetable gardening, caring for cacti and succulents, cooking demonstrations, flower arranging and much more. Bring your questions on gardening or home living because there will be experts from the Utah State University in the gardening booth to help you with your problems. Master Gardeners will be at the gardening booth while home economists from the Utah State University Extension Service, under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Coates, will answer your questions on home living. YOU WILL WANT TO TAKE advantage of the special computer gardening service. This popular feature of the Festival is under the direction of Dr. Wayne Rose, Utah State University Extension Service. You can give information as to the size, etc. of your garden, your favorite vegetables and flowers and in a matter of seconds have a complete plan for your plantings. Best of all, this valuable information from the experts is free to you at the Spring Home and Garden Festival. Beautiful gardens filled with flowers, lawns, flowering trees and sparkling fountains will bring you a pre- - Silver dishes, gift certificates and other awards will be given. You will want to enter the Super Silk competition and the Jerry Peters Kool Span Award. Schedules are available at The Salt Lake Tribune library, 113 S. Main; at the Garden Clubs Center, 1602 E. 2100 South in Sugar House Park; or at Pioneer Craft House, 3271 S. 500 East. All entries should be brought to the Salt Palace on Feb. 2( from 2 to 9:30 p.m. and Feb. 27 from to 10 a m. The Festival is open on Feb. 28 (Friday) at 10 a.m. so school teacher can bring their classes to the Festiva and still get them back to school te catch their buses home. There an special classes for juniors in all the competitions. We invite the younf people to participate in The Sal Lake Tribune Home and Gardei Festival.
