Show HUNTINGTON (Continued from page 1) The Annual day of the Relief society was duly celebrated on the 2oth of February Feb-ruary with an excellent pioram in tl e afternoon and a ball in the evening. A committee consisting of Mrs. Mart Jensen, chairman; Laura Brown, Fannie Fan-nie McElprang. Angeline Blackburn, and Mary S. Fowler are now on duty setting the stage for a bic time this month. The misfit party recently given by the Sunday Scr ool was the funniest and most enjoyable ball that has characterized char-acterized the winter season. CLEVELAND Mrs. Bert Childs, it is reported, has returned home feeling much improved in health. Iona, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Oveson who has been quite sick with rheumatism, is improving improv-ing as is also the infant of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Jensen, who lias had a geige of pneum.mia. One of our school teachers, Miss Barbara Anderson, has taken a few days layoff to be at the bedside of her mother, who is very ill. It is possible she will return to resume her duties Monday. "Millie, the Quadroon" will be . presented pre-sented in the near future by the Home Dramatic Co. Mrs. Ellen Nielsen and children of Epliraim have been visiting with Mrs. Nielsen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lars P. Larson. L. Peter Larso i was in town last week on business. (Too late for last week.) One of the best entertainments given in Cleveland Was put on by the District School last Monday night. The parts in Iheir order were: Singing by the -chnol "The Star Spangled Banner," "Mount Vernon Bells", and "You've Got to be an American to Feel That Way." The first grade presented a little playlet "Washington's Birthday" and song "Lincoln"; the second grade's part was a patriotic drill and "Lincoln's farewell address" was given by James Potter. Third and fourth grades a playlet "Half hour with Washington;" then the fifth and sixth grades presented present-ed the spicy little play entitled "The Bravest Boy at Bunkerhill;" while the seventh and eighth grades followed with their play "The Brave Little Tom-Boy." A large and well pleased audience greeted greet-ed them. A dance followed the entertainment. enter-tainment. On Friday of last week the Elmo Dramatic company presented "The J James Boys" to a large and apprecia- tive audience, after which a dance was given at Davis hall. Miss Annie Jensen returned last week j from Blackhawk and Carbon where she , has been employed for' the past four months. 1 Lee Lamph of Hiawatha visited last week with his parents, Mr. arid Mry. Wrn. T. Lamph. N. C. Christensen has had a severe attack of quinsey. Mrs. Gudrun Johnson has recently returned' re-turned' from Wellington where she visited with her daughter, Mrs. Maggie Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Fdward Larson are rejoicing re-joicing over a new son at their home. At a meeting of the Board of Directors Direct-ors held recently the bid of N. C. Christensen Chris-tensen was accepted as water master for the coming year. As far as is known our town is again free from whooping cough, tne last flag being taken down from the Litster home a few days since. At the annual meeting of the Relief Society held some time ago Mrs. Ruth Nielsen jjtendere.J her resignation as counselor to Sister Thomas and Mrs. Hannah Richards was sustained in her place. A meeting of the shareholders of the Cleveland Canal & Agricultural association associa-tion was held Wednesday for the purpose pur-pose of presenting the new bv-laws. I |
