830 845 VA accumulates stock by exercising options this open market purchase is a departure from his normal trading pattern Citicorp shares have since dropped further now trading in the $18 to $19 range We are not only looking to see where insiders bought on the market break but we are also keeping an eye out to see where sales occurred This holds a particutype of lar significance to us because during a time when one would expect to find one finds insider bargain-huntin- g the exact opposite action occurring In observing this atypical action however we want to stress it is still too early to draw very many conclusions from it We will be seeing much more of the August data in the months ahead For now however here are some early indications of where insiders have been lightening up: Anthem Electronics Inc — Readers may recall we wrote about this issue a few weeks back as insiders of this company took advantage of the high prices offered in July During July six insiders got out of 101306 shares at prices between $3525 and $3638 Their sales occurred between July 13-1- 8 a small window by normal insider standards Their timing was right on the mark however as Anthem shares were hammered in subsequent weeks Still as the shares dropped in August the selling continued Officer Clarence Barham sold 8000 shares at $2450 on Aug 2 and is now out of stock Also selling out his entire position was officer Marcel R Rodrigue disposing of 4399 shares Aug 15 at $2775 He had purchased most of those shares in October of 1989 for $1488 each Bargain hunters should be aware that although Anthem shares have come down a long way (as of this writing they are trading at $2188) the fact insiders are continuing to sell at these levels is a signal for traders to exercise caution Federal Paper Board Inc — These shares which are currently trading in the $17 range are a long way from their peak of $2738 last January As they dropped through the $19 range after the invasion vice president James C Barnes sold over one half his stake getting out of 16500 shares Aug 9 at $1858 each He position is now down to 14850 shares As Barnes may have sold for personal reasons we are refraining in lighting a caution lamp just yet With the stock trading at the present low levels however should we find additional insider sales as the Augzst data streams in we will certainly recommend investor caution at that time 812 ccrnmon F5 581-634- 8 PLEASE REGISTER IttE FOR 0 Conference and luncheon ($3000) 0 Conference only ($2000) 0 Luncheon only ($1000) 0 Check enclosed (Registration for lunch required by ay
