Show Wednesday, October College appoints development chief A management and research consultant from Salt Lake City has been hired as College of Eastern Utahs director of development. CEU President James R. Randolph said Dr. Ray H. Beckett Jr. will commence work on Nov. 1 at the college. He will perform professional and public relations duties in soliciting and bringing outside sources of revenue into CEU. Some of his duties include supervising Title III projects, soliciting and coordinating the receipts of private donations, applying for federal grants, serving as executive secretary of CEU alumni association and directing faculty and staff development. She married Alma Rolla Jewkes May 2, 1917 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, she was active in the Price Third Ward and had served on the Relief Society Stake Board. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Curtis, Price; 10 grandchildren, including Dana Kolby and Craig Curtis of Salt Lake City and Mitchum and Kim of and a Price; 16 Medicine, assistant budget director at U of U and budget administrator and financial advisor to the vice president of engineering at Aerospace Corporation. Beckett has been on the faculty at BYU and El Camino College. He has been a guest lecturer in graduate classes of special fund raising and development, economic resources and the finance of higher education at the U of U for four years. He earned his associate degree from Los Angeles City College, bachelor of science degree in business ad- ministration masters of Jewkes LAKE SALT division for Eyring Research Institute whereas he was the liaison and coordinator for the department heads and faculty of BYU, USU, U of U and Utah Technical Colleges in Salt Lake City and Provo in their program planning, has loved and in cared for her the last few months. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Fausett Mortuary chapel in Price. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Marcia L. Tanner Marcia Levi Tanner, 80, Price, died Oct. 10, 1982 in Price. She was born Dec. 19, 1901 in Beaver, Utah, to David Karl and Della Ashworth Levi. She married J. Owen Tanner June 26, 1923 in Beaver, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on May 23, 1964. He survives. He was born Dec. 21, 1901 to Andrew Jackson Allred and Mary Etta Peterson in Huntington. He married Una Lucinda Louie Jeffs Feb. 16, 1924 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on May 29, 1965. She survives. He worked for U.S. Fuel Corp. at Mohrland and Hiawatha and for Kaiser Steel at Sunnyside for 47 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He also served in various offices for the Kaiser Steel Credit Union. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints and a high priest in the Sunnyside Ward. He was also a member of the East Carbon Wildlife Association. In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Arthur Kenneth and his wife Carma, West Valley City; one daughter, Marilyn A. Hilton and her husband Tom, Bountiful; grandchildren, Jim and Becky Adred, Kathy Allred, Tom and Annette Hilton, Stacey, Stephen, Cory and Chansse Hilton; greatgrandchildren, Amy Rebecca Allred and Cassidy P. Hilton. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday in the Sunnyside LDS Ward chapel. Burial was in Price City Cemetery. Fausett Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. IDAHO FALI2, Idaho Aaron Burton Williams, 78, a former Ferron businessman, died here Oct. V, t 8, 1982. v born Jan. 27, 1904 in Emery, Utah, to George and Evila DeLange Williams. He married Nina Foote May 20, 1931 in the St. George LDS Temple. She died in 1968. He married Ora Campbell March 31, 1979 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Survivors include his children, Rex Williams, Idaho Falls, Mrs. Charles (Connie) Torgerson and Larry Williams, both of Bicknell, Utah, and Kerry Williams, San Diego, Calif.; and one brother, Merrill Williams, Orem. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ferron IDS Ward chapel. Burial was in Ferron Cemetery under the direction of the Williams Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
