(See Page 12B, Col. 1) Children age 3'2 to kindergarten are welcome, a spokesman said. The relatively new law requires any child entering school for the first time in Utah to present a certificate stating the child has received vision screening to detect amblyopia. The certificates will be given to all children screened at the clinics. It was emphasized that the screening is not a complete eye examination, but the importance cannot be overstated, says Dr. Kim Y. Taylor. Amblyopia must be detected and treated before a child reaches school age or the condition is usually not correctable. Amblyopia is blurred vision due to the under use of one eye. There is no organic defect. Since one eye sees better than the other, the weak eye fails to develop adequate vision. Treatment is often a simple matter of placing a patch over the better eye, forcing the lazy one to start working. Parents will be referred to a specialist for a complete eye examination and treatment. Parents whose children cannot attend the for other screening may call options. 322-364- 5 12 & OVER 0$ - ADD 82 FOR SET OR STYLE (ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR LONG HAIR) ALL WORK PERFORMER BY STUDENTS UNDER TIIE CAREFUL YOUR SATISFACTION GUARANTEED SUPERVISION OF LICENSED INSTRUCTORS - TAYLORSVILLE SCHOOL ONLY TO ELECT W.
