Despite our estimates, we do donate quite a bit to the missions. A couple of the more popular items at Schmidts are the eclairs and the croissants. Redwood Road, will open Aug. 23., offering everything from eclairs and croissants to cookies and cakes, according to Lucy Borg. She said it is the only bakery in the area, other than bakeries of larger retail operations. She and her husband Steve are "owners of Schmidts Pastry of which there are three others in the valley. The name 'Schmidts came not of personal significance, but of economic necessity. We bought our first bakery from , a little old man, Lucy said.
