Thursday, August The Meredith Willsons popular, nostalgic production, The Music Man. Rehearsals are under way for the Sept. 12 season opener on Lees Main Stage. Guest director Jerry Grayson has cast Robert Peterson as Professor Harold Hill, the likeable huckster who hoodwinks River City, Iowa with visions of Seventy-Si- x Trombones. Graysons actress wife Patricia Kies will play the prim and proper Marian Paroo. Grayson is artistic director of the Country Dinner Playhouse in St. Petersburg, Fla. where he has won critical acclaim for several productions. Peterson and Kies played the leads in PMTs first production of The Music Man in 1973, and last appeared opposite one another in the 1980-8- 1 season opener of My Fair Lady. Peterson has played musical and dramatic leads in more than a score of Main Stage productions. Kies, a Montana native and former University of Utah student, has appeared on the Main Stage eight times. She has returned to PMT as a guest artist to play lead roles in Cameiot, The Merry Widow and My Fair Lady. Nineteen members of the group earned by donating five or more service hours last month. The concert series moves to Crossroads Plaza for a week beginning Monday when the Oquirrh Ridge Drifters will present Bluegrass music. Jazz will be in the spotlight Tuesday when the Alvino Rey Sextet performs. The Salt Lake Vocal Ensemble will perform classical music on Wednesday and on Aug. 22, Vicki Veltri and Company will offer jazz. A MUSIC AND MOVEMENT CONCERT will be held in Reservoir park Sunday beginning at 5 p m. The concert will feature dance by RirieWoodbury, mime by Joe Pitti, Latin music by Frantz-Faneu- s y Su Combo and Reggae music by Irie Heights.
