Show 3B THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, August 16, 1984 Prominent Businessman Celebrates 90th Birthday On Sunday Aug. 19 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the children of Edwin K. Winder will host an open house in honor of his 90th birthday. The event will be held at the family yard up Dairy Lane, from the corner of 4400 West and 4100 South. Friends, neighbors and relatives are being invited and the family requests no gifts. Mr. Winder was born August 19, 1894 in Salt Lake. He attended LDS Richard and Ned, both of whom recently returned from presiding over LDS missions in San Diego, California, and Adelaide, Australia. Baker Carolyn Gillins Becomes Bride Of Douglas G. Baker A double-rin- g ceremony performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 10th joined in marriage Douglas G. Baker and Carolyn Gillms. The Hawaiian was setting for a wedding breakfast and later that evening a reception was given at the White House Reception Center. The bride is the daughter of Mary Ann Gillins, Kearns, and the late Harrell M. Gillins. She graduated from Kearns high and Dixie College where she earned an associate degree. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Baker, Kearns, and is a graduate of Kearns high. The groom filled an LDS mission to Atlanta, Georgia. Linda Gillins was the maid of honor and other attendants were Laurie Hart and Ilene Baker. Flower girl was Heather Hart while Marian Gillins attended the guest book. Performing best man duties was Robert Brown and ushers were Steve Baker, Martin Baker, Richard G llins, Rodney Gillins and Garry Hart. Following a honeymoon to California the newlyweds will make their home in West Valley. He was secretary for the Utah and Salt Lake Canal Company for more than fifty years. He married Alma Cannon in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 24, 1919, and they immediately went to Hawaii where they served a seven-yea- r mission. The Winders had seven children, daughters Kathryn Robinson and Marian Wynn, and three sons, Federal Judge David K. Winder, Mr. and Mrs John M Mooney Sherri Lynn Shaw Becomes Mrs. John Mooney In July John M Mooney took Sherri Lynn Shaw as his bride in a double-rinceremony performed July 21st at the Jordanelle reception center. A wedding breakfast was held at the home of he grooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Mooney, Sr., Salt Lake, and a reception was given later that evening at the Jordanelle reception center. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Deloy Shaw, of Murray, and is a graduate of Murray high The groom is a former resident of Torrance, California, and now resides in the Murray area. Maid of honor was Shelli Shaw and other attendants were Kathi Covert Sheila Shaw, Cindy Coombs, Patsy Leatherwood, Julie Mooney, Tracy Goodrich, Galene Tirrell and Jackie Webb. He is a member of Bonneville Knife and Fork club, Timpanogas club, Sons of Utah Pioneers and other community organizations. Active all his life in the LDS church, he has served in the stake presidency of Oquirrh and Jordan North stakes for more than 15 years, and as stake patriarch for 27 years.
