Show Production Thursday, Dec. On Trinity Slate KEARNS. The Jesse Tree will be presented by Sunday school children and youth at Trinity United Methodist church at 4 oclock Sunday afternoon. The program will take place in Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Luanne Holmes is directing the production and will begin the event with an interpretation of the Jesse Tree and its relationship to Christmas, said Rev. Bronston M. Greenwood. The program will include the Candle and the Rose, the Scroll, the Crown, Virgin Mary-Lilangels, shepherds staff and lamb, star and wise men, he said. The program will conclude with the sharing of canned foods and money gifts for Crossroads, Rescue Mission and the Transient Shelter. The adult Sunday school classes will host a time for fellowship and refreshment for families after the presentation. Friends and visitors are being invited to the event. John and Linda Newberg will host an adult activity group party from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Activities will include a potluck dinner, cake walk and games. The United Methodist Women will hold a combined units Christmas party Monday at 7:30, with a program of poems, sayings, short stories and hymns shared by members. Members are being asked to bring a dozen cookies and the recipe. A kitchen shower will be held for the church kitchen. Hostesses for the evening will be Cindy Pietz and Marilyn Gullickson. The West Valley Chorale will present its annual Christmas program at 8 oclock Monday evening in the Granger high auditorium. Twenty pieces are to be included in the program, ranging from classical to contemporary Christmas music, according to spokesman Jane Schaefermeyer. The concert is designed as a family program of Christmas favorites, she said. Family tickets are being offered for $5, with grandparents being admitted along with the family, she added. The service club will sponsor a Christmas dance Friday, while ninth graders will ask each student to donate 50 cents or a canned good item. Proceeds from the events will go to provide Christmas for needy families. Students will also participate in a door decorating contest next week, with prizes offered for the best seasonal decorations. A Christmas program will be presented in an assembly on Dec. 19 and again at 7 p.m. on Dec. 20, with participants from the dance, music and drama classes. The group will also perform at Fashion Place Mall at 5 p m. Dec. 15 and at Valley Fair Mall at 4 p.m. on Dec. 20. The program includes a variety of Christmas music under the direction of Vic White, with Christine Johnson as accompanist. Sixth grader Shane Hunsaker will also direct a number.
