Show Salt Lake County needs $13 million to pay its flood reconstruction costs. It also needs $20.5 million to make the kind of flood control improvements that reduce the risk of a repeat performance. AS CITIZENS OF SALT LAKE COUNTY, WE HAVE 2 OPTIONS: 1A TAX INCREASE! Just to pay for THIS TUESDAYS BOND ELECTION. If it passes, this election allows the County O Commission to bond for $33.5 million, enough to pay the bills and make the flood control improvements now. It will not increase our taxes because it can be repaid over 6 years out of the small existing tax that we already pay each year for flood control. reconstruction (which we do in 1984) the County have to raise our taxes by 6.5 mills . . . thats nearly $100 more on an average home. And the flood control improvements would still not be made! 2 IS OBVIOUSLY THE BEST OPTION. It is the option the County Commission has recommended. But they cant do it without our approval on Tuesday! 0$ VOTE OR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13! A ... and it also protects our tax rate! yes vote protects our homes and property Paid for by Citizens for Flood Control Bond, Richard Eyre, Director. |
