SUNSET Davis County Educator Addresses Rotarians Introduced by distinguished LDS Church Educator, Robert K. McIntosh ofCenter-ville- , and speaking to the Centerville - barmington Rotary Club, Dr. Gail Stevenson, assistant Superintendent of the Davis County School District, gave Rotarians a very positive accounting of the Davis School Districts present condition and record of accomplishments. DAMS COUNTY elementary students are scoring four to six months ahead of state averages and 12 to 14 months ahead of national averages m amost all achievement areas as tested in the second, fourth, and sixth grades. Of Davis Countys high school graduates, 63.67 percent feel sufficiently prepared and motivated to attend colleges or universities as compared to a 56.28 percent count for students statewide. Ninety-two to ninety-thre- e percent of all students who enroll in Davis County schools graduate, possibly a national record and certainly a very commendable percentage when compared to such an area as New Y ork w here only percent of the students complete high school. Finally, the activity had to wait until the weather was suitable. Landing in the helicopter were Kerry Anderson, producer of the television weather programs and a trained meteorologist, Steve Hoch-bruna television executive in the public relations department and pilot Jim Dirker.
