Three new homes were just built and all of them went with natural gas, she said. The positive changes resulting from the arrival of natural gas have not gas. TRIAL SCIENTIFIC DISTRIBUTION here convert to natural gas. I was constantly having to clean soot off my windows. It settled on everything. The arrival of natural gas has boosted property values as well. I know of at least two homes that were sold immediately after it was confirmed that we were getting natural gas. Its definitely a plus, pointed out Construction crews from Mound Salt Lake tain Fuel Supply spent two months last summer installing underground pipe to provide natural gas to Cleveland and Elmo residents. By September, the first residents were hooked up to the system. Cleaner air and an improving real estate market are just two of the positive developments some residents have attributed to the arrival of natural gas. No one is more excited than Karen and Newell Nielsen, who moved to Cleveland from Salt Lake City three years ago. The Nielsens were the First residents to begin using natural escaped the notice of Cleveland Mayor Ron Van Wagoner, who indicated that he expects to see a lot more new homes start to go up come spring. We would have liked to have gotten more people on the system before the cold weather set in, he said. But those who are using After using natural gas to heat their home in Salt Lake City, Karen Nielsen remembers it being quite a shock to all of a sudden have to be hauling in coal to fire our boiler. Natural gas is so much cleaner and more convenient. Ive noticed a difference in air quality already as more and more people natural gas are very happy with it. Van Wagoner was a member of the town council in 1980 when the effort to bring natural gas began. Looking back, he applauds the determination and teamwork that made the dream a reality. The Emery County Commission deserves a lot of credit for making this possible, he said, referring to an upfront contribution of $175,000 the county made to help defray construction costs. The people at Mountain Fuel should also be commended for their hard work. The result has really been a blessing, especially for the elderly here. A lot of them have told me they feel more independent now that they dont have to rely on family members to come out d and service their boilers. With natural gas, were not as confined to our homes in the winter. Were all just real tickled about coal-fire- this. Hwy 55, Price According to spokesman Vince Bussio, Flexcrete Cribbing Systems found a solution it believed would work better than wood or concrete in mine cribs. Last year, the company manufactured a crib with a high-compressi- ve strength and a high-yiel- d characteristic capable of supporting loads for long periods oftime with- out failing or yielding. Approximately 120 feet of the units were placed inside Deer Creek Mine. Flexcrete and Energy West officials documented the performance of the new cribs. Results showed that Flexcrete crib sections worked better and were preferable to the traditional wood cribs, producing results such as reduced floor heave and lack of rolling of individual blocks during lateral movement. Flexcrete Cribbing Systems feels that it can meet or exceed many of a mines cribbing support needs. Remember, our product is a system which can be customized to each mines particular needs, Bussio said. |
