Show Energy Edition, January, Joy Technologies workers remanufacture machinery Joy Technologies Inc. opened in Carbon County in July 1978 and has been a part of the local mining industry for nearly 16 years. Located east of Price, the company employees 82 people, according to Tim McCal-luvice president-genera- l manager. The company is involved in the remanufacture of Joy mining machinery and has a machine shop that does complete fabrication, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical servicing. It remanufactures automatic miners, shuttle cars, shearers and fans for different mining industries. McCallum said Joys business philosopy is to be the lowest cost per ton supplier of machinery to its customers. The company covers mainly a four state area Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. Joy services coal mines in Utah and Colorado, trona mines in Wyoming and potash mines in New Mexico. Joy also covers western Canada and Alaska from the Price area. Future plans for the mining service company are to expand its service facility by 10,000 square feet within the next five years. The new local business employees three people. The companys Roosevelt store opened in 1981. The company has expanded its service to be on call, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are constantly increasing our inventory to cover as much of the needs as possible, Richardson said.
