Subject to space Sal National Forest will host a meeting on February 8 The Manti-L- a to discuss new appeal regulations. The regulations, that were fully implemented this month, affect many Forest Service decisions on proposed actions which implement Forest Plans. George Morris, Supervisor Sal National Forest said, The new regulations expand for the Manti-L- a the opportunity for involvement by the public in refining project proposals before the Forest Service makes its decisions. The regulations also change the process for appealing some decisions and shorten the time allowed for deciding the action to be taken on the appeal." The meeting, which is open to anyone interested in finding out details of the appeal regulations, is scheduled at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum in Green River beginning at 9:00am on February 8 and will end about 4:00. Morris said, Because the regulations are new, many Forest Service employees will be learning about them at this meeting. We are encouraging other people who are interested to participate in the explanation and discussions." For further information please contact any Manti-LSal National Forest Office.
