(Al') The mother of Maryjane Dahl says she was not the one who pulled the plug on the hospitalized respirator. Maryjane died 15 minutes after the machine was disconnected. Mrs. Kenneth Sarvent of Upper Nyack, N.Y., who visited her daughter with the girl's aunt shortly before the girl's death. said they both "would never even think of doing a thing like this." "She was my only daughter," Mrs Sarvent said Wednesday. "I never gave up hope. I felt she would have survived." Maryjane, suffering from hodgkin's disease and meningitis, was in a coma Sunday night at Nassau Hospital when the respirator was disconnected. She had been put on the machine after suffering convulsive seizures and kidney failure. "Because of increased Guatemalan military activity near the border with Belize. the British government has reluctantly decided that it has no alternative but to increase the small British garrison in Belize," said a government statement in London. Sources in Belize said the British government had received reports that Guatemala had sent 10 armored troop carriers plus infantry and supplies to Polvora, 15 miles from the Belize border. The Guatemalan president, Kjell Eugenio Laugerud Garcia, said at a news conference that Guatemala had acted with patience in the dispute. But he said "the Guatemalan people are not castrated and would take the necessary action to recover that territory."
