HIGH HIGHLIGHTS by David West Science Fair Held On PantherDay CINDY CERKA TOOK first place in the 8th grade Biological area for her proect on a Potatoe experiment This years Panther Day was held on March 5, where parents were invited to come and see the school and the many different exhibits in it Each department in the school had an activity or a demonstration The main event of the day was the Science Fair sponsored by the Science Department There were demonstrate There were many students involved in the activity Each student would stay by his or hers project and explain what to trying they were many winners in the Science Fair In the Biological Science Area 7th grade Kristine Whitaker took 1st place and Tom Proccasio and Clara Folker together won 2nd place Kristine did a chart on the Eye and Tom and Clara did it on the Kidney Machine In the 8th grade Cindy Cerka won 1st place for her Potatoe experiment and Marcy Pratt won 2nd for her project on the Heart Then in the 9th grade the winners were David Vance and Jeff Donty for their project on Needles and 2nd place went to Jeff Levie and Dale Hall for their exhibit on a dissected pig Then in the Physical Science area the winners for 7th grade were Karen Taylor 1st on her project on Polarized Light, and Sitha Clark won 2nd place for her project on Computers Third went to Dennis Pratt for his exhibit on Space Mudules Then Vince Yoarra won 4th place for a project on a Heat Machine The 8th grade starts out with David Boren winning 1st place for his exhibit on Stars Then Robbie Peters won 2nd for a project on The Process of a Rocket Third went to Kimball Whitaker for a project on a Sound Generator Then for 4th place Lanette and SECOND WENT TO Robbie Peters for his exhibit on is in the 8th grade and he won it in the process of a rocket. He the Physical area Jay Spencer for their project on a model of a Gen Plant who parEveryone ticipated in the Science Fair got to stay and watch their project for two school days missing all classes Other events that were going on during the day were Spelling Bees by the English The Home Department Economic Department had cooking labs all day.
