He brings to the community a rich background in communications, political science, and a growing in-terest in State government. A relative newcomer to the Kearns area, George and his family moved here about one and a half years ago. They have been anxious to get in- volved in their chosen community and George felt that now was time, not just sit on the sidelines, as he put it. Early Life George was born in Albany, New York to parents who were both school teachers. His family moved around a good deal and he grew up in Southern California and Maine. He met his wife, Jane, in Chicago while attending . , commercial j . ' art school from 1966 to 1968. From there he went into the Air Force for four years, one year of that being in Southeast Asia. In 1972 he was discharged and went to Omaha, Nebraska where he earned an un- dergraduate degree in Political Science. While a student he worked with the Omaha World Herald as a writer and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He also mentions that while he was in the Air Force as a personnel specialist illustrator for the he was a part-tim- e Castle Air Force Base, Merced, California, newspaper. When looking for a home business, look for the unique service that only you and a few others can provide. For the past ten years, I have been making good (not fantastic) money serving the advertising needs of small businesses. Many of these businesses have a very limited advertising budget and are not in the market for a large advertising firm. Others, just feel that a more personal touch is something that I can offer. In addition, I keep my rates competitive. There is a miriad of ways to earn money at home, if youll just take the time to discover your own talents and abilities and areas of interest. But dont think that you can do it without good solid work. It will take time, and a great deal of work.
