Show Valley View News, December 13, 1979, Page 3 Arcadia Elem: Prizes Given To PTA Winners KEARNS It was an excited student body at Arcadia Elementary school on Tuesday morning, December 11. The PTA President, Mary Ellen Strong, assisted by the Vice President, Paula Cum- mings, handed out prizes. What had the children accomplished? They raised over $1,000 for the PTA, thats what. By selling a four spice bottle set for $7 eqfh, they were able to earn enough money to purchase a water cooler. It will be installed shortly. According to Mary Ellen, each child who sold six sets was awarded a choice of an electric yo-y- o or a frisbee. A s total of 67 and six frisbees were given out at this special assembly. The selling project began in the middle of October and many children worked very hard to reach their goals. The top seller was Brenda Caudle who sold 38 sets. She received a Snooze Bear as her prize. Coming in second was Holly Miller with 35 sets. She was given a pocket camera. Kaylee McAdams won a walkie-talki- e outfit for her third place spot by selling 29 sets. In fourth place was Gregory Strong who received an AM-Fhead phone radio for having sold 28 sets. Ranee Rowland sold 25 sets and placed fifth by winning a calculator. Christmas Program The children will form a procession holding specially decorated flashlights. A short play will unfold as they stand in front of a giant snowman the entire class helped fashion. Participating in this program will be Cris Mott, Tina Mabey, Lenny Bawden, Julie LeFevre, Jeremy Brooks, Jonathan Woodbury as Santa, Tommy Deck, and Angie Mortensen. at Arcadia tiementary pose for their the front with row (I. to r.) they are: Michael Ruff, Lisa Horner, picture.
