| Show STAR VALLEY WYOMING editor the box elder news doubtless you will be ba surprised la receiving correspondence from far off star valley and from a stranger too but the tact fact Is that in going to our yesterday I 1 came across a number of your neat and interesting paper to begin with I 1 was pleased 1 with your motto devoted to no party or faction but just to all then in glancing through yoa your col dumns I 1 noticed many familiar names for I 1 am an old timer having entered utah in 1854 IS 5 4 and also having lived in brigham city when hen harvey peirce was its bishop first bishop I 1 think besides I 1 see the names of some who have been residents ot of this valley who are now with you and wo we have some here in whom I 1 think the good people of box bos elder county in general and Brigham of city have a lively interest st so you see that there Is not only a general bond of sympathy between your people and ours but there are also personalities ot of good fellowship we have just had a fine bounteous rain storm but the sun is now shining brilliantly and and star valley looks as fresh and green as it did in june perhaps some hay Is damaged a little but the ranchers have had a rest which under the smiles of 0 yon glorious sun will inspire them with fresh energy however we have other water wate r works besides those of idame dame nature yes it may surprise you folks to learn the fhe fact but through the energy of our worthy citizen mr air john miles allies and others we have the pure beautiful water of 0 a nearby near by cans can on conveyed conveniently to the hands of our thrifty housewives house wives and this same spirit of enterprise is manifest in many other ways both in our little town and throughout the two valleys for be it known star valley indulges in a plurality ot of which we think even congress and those model old ladles ladies of the nation may well be proud another reality I 1 want to mention upon which I 1 think we may mutually and beneficially exercise our pride and that ts our day school conducted this summer by miss margaret E call and I 1 do not think it necessary to formally introduce this young lady to your readers our acquaintance with her A h has as been very gratifying here Is a copy of an article that recently appel appeared Ted in the index a local manuscript journal ot of gro grover ver miss bliss 6 calls alls school twe we had a pleasant and profitable visit to this young ladys school last friday forenoon it ts Is evident that we have in her an earnest active e energetic teacher she has tact and originality too the school deci pline was excellent without severity love in the teacher begetting reciprocal love in the pupils and consequent good order 1 the singing pleased us well some df t the pieces were motion songs we think that our primary association and sunday school workers should come and listen to miss bliss calls sweet little singers and witness their apt inov movements cements some lessons designed to develop the perceptive faculties were fine editor index her efficiency and faithfulness in the day school however are not the only characteristics of this young lady that have made her popular with and endeared her to th the F people of grover G rover ward she is an earnest and consistent christian came with her recommend to her co religionists and identified herself at once as one of oc us and is ever at hand to do a full share toward progress and entertainment in a general way thus her influence is beneficial in all the walks of life mr editor I 1 take pleasure in in thus speaking of miss margaret E call not only is as a deserving tribute e but also because in giving merit its due I 1 am following her good example in practically saying to othel others 31 go 1 thou and do likewise I respectfully A P WELCH WELCHMAN bIAN |
