Show willard dr jfred fred stauffer and wife of salt lake city were visiting with dr sider mrs byron barker jr sunday they came up in ili an automobile mr geo gea harding mrs elizabeth elizabet a zundel dmd and miss mary L hardin harddng 0 went to welser weiser idaho last saturday to visit with mr air hardings and mrs Zun dels sister mrs phebe warner the correspondent neglected to write last week of tile the visit of some of the mothers to the forks of the canyon seven of the largest women accompanied by a much smaller one started one aw bright morning about and went to the mouth of the canyon and camped for breakfast after a hearty meal they started on their journey with the intention of dining with george washington lemons in ahto hip dining car but whether mr air lemons was aware of this or not everything was locked up and he could not be found so they had to cook din mer and then after a long rest they went to the forks of the canyon so they claim and we will take their word for it they comeback cam came eback back home about dusk weary and foot sore how many chickens they killed no one knows but they claim that the scenery Is grand the next thing planned Is a visit to the lake success misses alice and olive harding have gone to malad to visit alt with ih their brother R J harding harddng and family the storm last week did a lot of damage to the crops and to tile the county road two days last week there were cloud bursts and water came roaring down the mountainsides mountain sides down by E P cordons cordona Cor dons it washed a gulley across the county road to the depth of about fifteen feet carrying the sand down into his peach orchard he had a good sized rock wall west of his orchard and the sand came to the top of the rock wall but no damage was done to the tomatoes and beets that were next to the wall on the other side the next one was by jos S dudleys dudlets Dud leys not much damage was done there although a deep gulch was washed across the road the next one was out on the hill north of Wl willard llad where it washed large boulders down into the young orchard of wm woods destroying his orchard and tomatoes besides other things mr woods it Is claimed lost from to mr J scott of ogden was buried la 10 the willard cemetery last evening last wednesday evening he washed himself for supper apparently as well as ever and then sat down and died mr air scott was the husband of mrs jane woods woo s about 15 or 16 aehl cles met the six train last evening and accompanied the remains to the cemetery A sociable or surprise was given at the home of misses marla maria and olive mason last friday night the misses mason masod are going to move to brigham this week where they will make their home this winter willard loses two of their popular girls the cannery is going to start canning tomatoes this week misses masses elsie J dalton and ida hubbard of gentile valley are visiting in willard willard aug 27 T 21 |
