Sunday evening in JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah ELDER Sacrament meeting Lemuel and Earl were the guest speakers and reported their LDS Mission in North Carolina with headquarters at Shelby. L.R. Earl Jr. of Mendon also attended Sacrament meeting. Following the meeting Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Bowcutt, Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Earl, L.R. Earl and Clint Earl returned to the Emerson Earl home for des- Thursday, October 16, 1975 Nan Fielding Flashes! Progress Guild installs officers Godfrey and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Godfrey and family in Lehi. They also visited Mrs. Ruby Wright in Midvale and Mrs. Keith Woolley and family in Farmington. Enroute home they enjoyed dinner at Maddox Ranch house in Perry. by Flo Munson The Future Progress guild held its installation luncheon at the Loft House in Logan. Hostesses were Esta Pierson, Barbara King, RaEtta Jones, Charles Jensen, Karen Miller, Eleanor Peterson, Janet Godfrey and MerLynn Kent. A short business meeting was conducted by president Shari Scott preceeding the luncheon. New officers who will preside for the coming season are Teri Garn, president; MerLynn Kent, first vice president; Christie Richards, second vice president; Joan Richards, secretary, Esta Pierson, corresponding secretary. They were presented dainty corsages by the retiring officers Shari Scott, Lori Anderson, Vicky Archibald, Lula Scott and Jolie Udy. Gifts were presented to members who had 100 percent attendance for the past year. They were Esta Pierson, Ann Welling, Marie Bywater, Carol Forsberg and Lori Anderson. Each year members draw names for a secret pal for the coming year. During the year they remember the person whose name they have drawn on their birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas and other holidays. At the end of the season they reveal who each member has had for their secret pal for that year. Judy Udy, Marla Welling and Camille Reay were welcomed as new members of the club. Next Meeting The next meeting will be held at the home of Judy Smith on Oct. 22. At this meeting the evening will be spent tying a colorful quilt which will go to the one holding the winning ticket at the annual Christmas party sponsored by the club. A shower pink and blue was held at the home of Mrs. Charla Jensen Wednesday evening for Mrs. Lori Anderson. were Mrs. Janet Garn and Mrs. Julie Wood. Twenty close friends spent the evening tying a baby quilt which was presented to Mrs. Anderson along with other lovely and useful gifts. Dainty light refreshments were served. Spending Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wright and family in Richmond were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Garn and family. The Wrights are Mrs. Gams parents. They also enjoyed visiting Mrs. Garns aunt Mrs. Ena Huber of Marion, Ohio who is houseguest at the Wright home. Mr. and Mrs. Uel Garn have left for Mesa where they will spend the winter months. They were anxious to leave for Mesa as they have a new home which has just recently been completed. It is near the location where their son and daughter-in-laDr. and Mrs. Daryl Garn and family are living. Thursday Mrs. Flo Munson and Mrs. Helen Mason visited Mrs. Munsons brother Orson w Baby Named Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Burton attended Sacrament meeting in the Winter Fifth ward in Salt Lake City Sunday where the small son of H.R. and Cordelia Burton Peterson was blessed by his father and given the name of Steven Chris Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Burton attended a family dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Pet- erson immediately following the meeting. Visiting Mrs. E.W. Sutherland Friday was her daughter Mrs. Elna Goodsell of Newton. The Stage Coach Camp of DUP met at the home of Mrs. NaVelle Rhodes in East Garland Thursday afternoon. Captain Essie Peterson conducted Friday Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith and daughter Marla and son Marian enjoyed a picnic in Logan canyon and also visited in Smithfield. Saturday guests of Mrs. Alene Sutherland were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutherland and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Sutherland and family of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Sutherland and family of Logan.
