BY weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. The Literary club met with Mrs. Ruth Manning as hostess Tuesday evening. Mrs. John D. Plowman of Brigham City gave a demonstration of grain grinding. Special guests were Mrs. Carol Fluckiger, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith, Mrs. lone Larson and Mrs. Irish Mortenson. Mrs. Manning had a delicious loaf of whole wheat bread she had made to present to each member and guest. Light refreshments were served. Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Taylor were Mrs. LaRue Stringham Prince and son Darrin and daughters Paula and Tammy of LaVerkin. Mrs. Prince is Mrs. Taylors niece. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sandall, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton G.M. Kerr accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Wood enjoyed a drive to Bear Lake Tuesday to see the Lester Wheatley. The three and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Curt Webb and family in Santa Monica and her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Carter and family in San Dimas. Spending the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Don Borup were Denise Borup, JoAnn King, Frances Quigley and Barbara Nielson all students at Ricks College in Rexburg. Dr. and Mrs. Wendell White have returned from an enjoyable trip to Washington D.C. where they attended oral surgery meetings. They also visited many points of historic interest including the former Thomas Jefferson home in Charlottesville, Va.; Williamsburg, Va.; and Mt. Vernon. The VGF club met at the home of Mrs. M.P. Christensen Wednesday evening. Special guests were Mrs. Freda Barker and Miss Ann Barker of Bear River City. The nine candidates for Brigham City council have been invited to address local area senior citizens after Fridays weekly lunch at the community center. Everyone is invited to meet these candidates and hear a few words from them. If you cant come for lunch, then plan to attend at 1 p.m, Director Hazel Kaiser said. The hopefuls have been invited for lunch which this week will include chicken, baked potatoes, hot rolls, tossed salad, coffee and punch, and cake. Those coming to lunch must make reservations by Thursday at 2 p.m. The cost is 70 cents. Erma Barfuss, supervisor preparation, will be of food assisted by Thurza Kingston, Mary Kimber and Beth Dunn. Honor Birthday Monday, Oct. 20, will be time for birthday honoring after the luncheon. Everyone is invited whether your birthday is in October or not. A special card wil be given each honoree. Luncheon is at 12 noon and bingo is played after, the director said. Mrs. Roberts and son Mark accompanied her home and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Shelby and family in Garland. Were Guests Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Garland Puzey accompanied by their grandchildren Robbie and Ann Puzey of Ogden were dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Randle in Logan.
