Show jj Deweyville Dateline Obituaries Bryan W. Cuthbort 2572 James L. Cravens James Lloyd Cravens, 74, Tremonton, died Oct. 12, 1975, in a Salt Lake City hospital after a long illness. He was born March 11, 1901, in Payson to James David and Eulalia Finlayson Cravens. He married Rhea Hales on Nov. 10, 1928, in Bountiful. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He lived in Salt Lake City until three years ago. Survivors include his wife, sons, James R. Cravens, Blaine L. Cravens, both Salt Lake City ; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Francis LeRoy Cra- vens, Sutherlin, Ore.; Eldon F. Cravens, Alameda, Calif.; Wesley R. Cravens, Pollock Pines, Calif.; Clinton D. Cravens, Carmichael, Calif.; Mrs, Grace Lund, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Hazel Watson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ida B. Waite, Riverside, Calif. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Salt Lake City. Burial was in Riverside v t , ? , Roger Mason, Mrs. Horace Gardner and Mrs. Jack Germer by Alene Fryer Come Alive in 75. That is the challenge given by the Relief society organization at a social held Wednesday morning. Mrs. Hupert Blackham welcomed visiting teachers that morning and Mrs. Jess Earl, who will be giving the visiting teaching messages for the year, gave a brief review of the tasks outlined. Mrs. James Holdaway gave a lesson for spiritual living. A special skit was given by a group of young women of the Relief society and a quartet of young men from Bear River High school sang two clever songs. A delicious luncheon was served under the direction of Mrs. Blackham, Mrs. Warren Haycock, Mrs. Don Smith and Mrs. Charles Norr. The outgoing officers, Mrs. J.R. Adams, Mrs. '4t!' ( Bryan W. Cuthbert were honored and appreciation expressed for their service to the organization. Regular lessons and activities will now be held each Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., with visiting teachers meeting held the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Add to your attend Relief socknowledge iety regularly. Held Attention Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, Canada held the attention of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Germer of Deweyville and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen of Brigham City. They returned last week after an extended trip of sightseeing. They also had a visit with Eloise and James Petterson, who are serving a mission for the LDS church in Battleford, Saskatchewan. Mrs. Patterson is a sister of Mrs. Germer. The Germers said grain was still being harvested and flowers still blooming in the exceptionally fine weather in Canada. They returned home by way of Calgary, Banff National Park and Lake Louise. Mrs. Lottie Dustman was guest of honor at a family dinner Sunday afternoon. It was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bunderson in for Mrs. Dustmans birthday. Trooper Dale Hooper of the Utah Highway Patrol said Mark Rees Abner of Ogden and his passenger walked away from the 1:05 p.m. mishap. Hooper said the driver failed to see the train approaching the crossing and his car was struck in the trunk area. And two men were unhurt when they fell asleep and ran off the road, in separate incidents. Robert Ralph Jones, of New Haven, Conn., was northbound in Willard Monday morning when he fell asleep, ran across the road and struck a parked Hit Sign And Robert Douglas Walker of Mountain Home Air Force Base was uninjured when he fell asleep at the Elwood inter- and hit an inforchange of mation sign Saturday. And Spencer Redmond, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper, was involved in an accident near the Thatcher church on Oct. 6. Kapp, has been selected to serve as a home town representative for the Army Recruiting Station the next three months. Sgt. He was born Dec, 26, 1958, in Ogden, a son of Elmer Jay and Gloria Warren Cuthbert. His father is a former resident of Brigham City. He was reared in Syracuse and had attained the Eagle Scout rank and received the LDS Duty to God award. He was a former president of the deacons and teachers quorums in the Syracuse First ward and was a home teacher. He was a junior at Clearfield High school where he, was a member of the ski club, high school choir, football team, and Sigma Tau club. He was employed at Low Cost Food store in Clearfield. He is survived by his parents of Syracuse, one sister, Mrs. Robert D. (Pat) Mabey, Bountiful; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Warren, Syracuse. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12 noon in the Syracuse First Ward chapel. Friends may call at the Clearfield Lindquist mortuary this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at the Syracuse Ward chapel from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
