Show Plymouth Ponderings Buzzing Bear River Dinner party notes dad's 9 1st birthday by Flo Munson Mrs. Nina Lamb attended a dinner party at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thompson, in Clarkston Thursday. The occasion was Mr. Thompsons 91st birthday anniversary. Other dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thompson, Jr., Mrs. Clarice Tolson, Mrs. Thelma Phillips of Logan, Mrs. Sybil Goodey of Clarkston. During the afternoon many friends and relatives called to extend best wishes to Mrs. Thompson. Marge Larson of Corinne visited her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and family Wednesday. Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish visited Mr. and Mrs. Don Nish and family in Bountiful. Conrad, Stephanie and Jason Wakely of Bancroft have been spending a few days with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lamb and family. Their mother Mrs. Verna Jean Wakely arrived Sunday to spend a week at the Lamb home. Mrs. Ray Udy entertained at a party at her home Thursday evening. Out-of-tow- n Hon-eyvill- e. Visit Saturday Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and family Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Stokes of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting attended a wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Ron Whiting in Salt Lake City Saturday evening. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan L. Whiting and family in Roy and enjoyed dinner in a local Roy rest- aurant. Mrs. Jane Udy accompanied by Mrs. Lenore Silvester of Riverside enjoyed a dinner party at the home of Mrs. Genevieve Jensen in Brigham City Friday where they were joined by Mrs. Eva Zundel of Ogden and Miss Mary Hess of Brigham City. Dinner guests of Mrs. Loretta Starr and family Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Jed Lamb and children Brett, Wade, Kristy Jo and Rebecca of Pingree, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Steed, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Steed accompanied by Mrs. Ray Udy of Riverside visited Mr. and Mrs. Grant Steed in Ogden Friday evening. They also attended the viewing for Howard Hess at the Myers Mortuary. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Peterson returned home Sunday evening after spending several days in Ephraim visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels and family. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. F. Allen Baker and family in Layton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christensen and family in Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Peterson and family in Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Estep visited Mrs. Clara Hoskins in Logan Monday. Saturday Mrs. Nina Lamb, Mrs. Judene Owen accompanied by Mrs. Randee Owen of Fielding and Mrs. Judy Deakin of Tremonton attended a miscellaneous bridal shower at the home of Mrs. Amy Stowell in North Ogden honoring Miss Sheri Grill, daughter of Tom and Beverly Owen Grill who will become the bride of Dale Voisard in rites performed in the Salt Lake Temple Oct. 24. Original bridal games were en by Senneth Hawkes The Post Office District number one held one of their meetings last Thursday evening and combined with the meeting was a retirement party for two Mrs. long time post masters Verna Earl of Deweyville who has worked for the postal department 34 years and our own Elwood Jensen who has served 31 years. The event was held at Sherwood Hills and most all of Mr. and Mrs. Jensens children were there. Their daughter Sharia Josephson of Longmont, Colo, and her family could not be there, but Judy and Rob Berrett of North Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Jensen of Clearfield and Brenda Hawkes of Brigham City could make it. The master of ceremonies for a lovely program was under the direction of Jay McFarland one postmaster of Riverside, with the help of Mrs. Oleen Josephson. Mrs. Mr. Lorin and Christensen report that their daughter Lorie Davis and her husband of Chester, Va., are the proud parents of a new baby boy born Sept. 30. The little lad had some problems at first but at last reports was getting along on his own. Beverly Ipsen Dalton has been staying with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Rudgar Ipsen for a few days. She has now returned to her home in Big Park, Mont. She was down here for further medical treatment for an old leg injury she suffered in an automobile accident when she was just a girl in her town. Mrs. Erma Rock has been reported to have been on the sick list but now on the mend. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Silva stopped by the Boyd Hawkes Wednesday evening with the Ebbie Silvas of Brigham City to puck up their little son BuShawn who has been staying with his grandparents for a week. Ronda informed us that she has accepted employment at the Soda Springs Rest and Nursing home and is really enjoying her work. Phyllis and Dell Holmgren just stayed home during the weekend visiting with their daughter Dawn who stayed with them for a weekend off from her college duties. The Ramdells have received word that their son Teds wife Marlene of Blackfoot, Idaho has recently been appointed Stake Relief soceity president in that Phyllis Lewis has been in the hospital during the week for observation. She should be returning to her home soon. Mrs. Ida Christensen had extensive dental work during the week and recuperated at the home of her daughter Emerene Anderson in Bothwell. Mrs. Daisy Duke and grandchildren Cleanne and Mark stopped by to see Ida but she wasnt home. sister You are to Us-Yo- ur Alaska. Bob the Christensen and their family and the Stuart Balls as dinner guests at their home. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Spittler and two little girls were at the Vietnamese in California. He interprets for the church speakers and takes Mr. Iverson had another surprise Saturday night when an old buddy Hugh Ward, called him from Sacramento, Calif., to chat about the old jobs they used to work together on with the iron workers up and down the West Coast. They havent seen each other since 1938 so they really had quite a lot to duscuss. Barbara and Bob Rust were weekend visitors at the Boyd Hawkes home. The Rusts recently left their farm in Tennessee to return to Salt Lake for Mrs. Rust to finish her college education. Sunday the Rusts and the Hawkes spent the forenoon with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hawkes in Howell. The Kenneth Pasketts attended the funeral of Kens uncle Curtis J. Paskett in Henefer on Saturday. Mr. Paskett was 97. The Pasketts grand in Christensen, for doctors reside Bessie and Christensen were at the Hyde Park ward services where they had two grandchildren recognized. One was Brian Christensen, who was awarded the honor of being advance to an Scout and Kirk Eagle Christensen was confirmed a member of the church. These children are the sons of Bob and Linda Christensen. Lindas brother Farrell and his wife had their daughter Lynette confirmed at the same services. Afterward the Farrell Balls had the Chester Intrepreter people to their Marilyn Chester Cory Anderson, son of Hartley and Gaye Anderson, is working as a Vietnamese interpreter in a camp and Ackerman were seen Sunday at our church services. They are recent residents of our town and Arvilla Holmgren and her daughters Joyce Dahlberg of Ogden and Jerilyn Baty of Harper Ward were in Vernal during the first week of October visiting with Mrs. Holmgrens sister Edith and her family and May N. Anderson. Mary A. Hansen who has been in the hospital in St. George has been doing very well and is going to a sister's home in Hurricane. The Mayor and Mrs. Hailing were invited to a private preview showing by President Kimball of the St. George Temple remodeling. They went and stayed the night at St. George. The Wallentine family went to Music of America Monday night. The Rices have moved. A . . . chili 'n hot bread Mantua ward. Mr. Jensen is an old time Mantua-ite- , being born and raised here. He is a brother to Lola Jensen, so that makes him an uncle to Delbert and Blaine Jensen. He said it was good to come back and visit. Along with church news is to remind you of the Elders party Thursday night at the girls home up the mountain. It will be at 6 p.m. and you are to bring your own meat and utinsels. The rices have moved to Logan on the main drive, south of Logan. We hope they enjoy it there. Moving into the Rices home will be Myrna Jensens parents. Have you noticed that the water trenches are covered and black topped? I wonder how much longer before we use our new water system then. I called Ralph Yearsley and. he informed me that the water well is ready to be hooked up and they are just waiting for the power to be put in now. Again we remind you that yummy.
