The deal was part of an agreement worked out with a number of local telephone companies throughout Utah. Other communities that were sold by US West as part of the agree- ment include Vernal, Roosevelt, Dugway, Mount Pleasant, Ephraim, Wendover and Coalville. Emery Telephone is a local telephone company based in Orangeville, Utah. The cooperative was formed in 1950 by the residents of Emery County to develop a modern tele- phone network in the rural area. Today, the company provides advanced telecommunications services such as Caller ID and Voice Mail to thousands of customers in Emery and Grand Counties. The company also serves tens of thousands of customers through its j POOR COPY subsidiary companies - Emery Telephone Long Distance, Emery Telcom Internet, and Emery Telcom Business Services.
