The most notable feature of the day, was the presence of hundreds of former Willard residents, some of whom had not isited their native city for over 30 years. Tile day was one glad rejoicing and happy reunion lor these people, ns they greeted their old friends and neighbors and miugl-etogether once more in tb which gave them birth. The exercises of the day started off with a splendid musical and oratorical program in the Tabernacle in the morning after the guests had arrived. As Willard has furnished more talent in the arts than any other city in the state of its size, the good people had an opportunity yesterday of listening to some of the sons and daughters who have made marks for themselves in the world. At the conclusion of the morning meeting, the crowds busied themselves with eating peaches, watermelons, cantaloupe and other fruits, which were generously distributed from a point of vantage on the square grounds. None were permitted to go away unsatisfied, for there was plenty for everybody, and then some. The Relief Society looked after the more substantial eatables, at their refreshment stand in the basement of the Tabernacle. Delicious sandwiches, pie, cake, salad ana other palatable viands were sold at a moderate price, within the reach of all, ?n there were none going hungry, The fruit display was excellent. There were all kinds of fruits on exhibit, and some of the Elherta peaches were about the grandest ever seen. It , is understood that some of the fruit growers of Willard will make exhibits in Brigham on Peach Day, and if they bring fruit like that on display yesterday, there will be something doing in the way of competing for the grand prize, III lilt) afternoon, a game ot hall was played between Willard and Plain City, which was Very exciting. Speeches wore also made by prominent visitors, and the crowd was kept in good humor throughout the day. From Ogden came special car loads of business men and newspaper men, and in fact the cars conveyed a crowd to Willard all day long. The service was excellent and the clanging of the street car gongs lent a metropolitan air to the occasion. The street and grounds of the public squarS gorgeously decorated, and Uid city presented a gala appearance, The citizens who led Out in the celebration, can well be proud of the cersuccess of their efforts.
