Watson Favored To Claim Match Play Championship VIRGINIA WATER, Eng. (UPI) -For record PGA money-earnTom 1 favorite to capture the Watson, $250,000 World Match Play golf championship which started today, it's the same old story . "I like match play but I have never come to this tournament playing well. Maybe this year it will be different," said Watson who has five U.S. victories under his belt this year and has cashed winners' checks worth $362,429. "Everybody is a dark horse in this kind of game and you can't bet on what will happen," said Watson, beaten 5 and 4 by Spanish wonder player Seve Ballesteros last year and a 2 and 1 loser to Al Geiberger at the same stage in African Dale Hayes, this years's Italian and French champion.
