Show Energy office clarifies tax credit date The Utah Energy Office cautions Utah residents considering the purchase of solar systems that the state energy system tax credit expires at the end of June, 1985, not this year, as some businesses are suggesting. Federal energy conservation and renewable energy tax credits are due to expire in December, 1985. The Energy Office learned recently that some businesses involved in the sale of solar systems in Utah are incorrectly informing potential buyers that the tax credit program ends this year. In commenting on the problem, Utah Energy Office Director, E. James Bradley, said, "We don't know if the people who are making these representations are misinformed or if they are using the erroneous expiration date as a sales pressure tactic. We want to be sure the public has the correct facts and we encourage them to call the energy hotline to clear up any confusion that may exist." The festival, now in its second year, is called Eisteddfod and will take place March 1, 1985 at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle at 100 S. University Avenue. Ron Dennis, coordinator of the event, said it's important for competitors to start preparing entries now, though the event is three months away. Fifteen literay, musical and arts and crafts categories are open to the public for competition. Entries will be accepted in the mail from now through Feb. 4. All inquiries should be directed to Welsh Festival, Eisteddfod Committee, BYU, Provo 84602. The university's humanities and are fine arts departments the festival in order to honor the many people with Welsh background in the Intermountain West. The competition evolved two years ago when Kitty Norris, wife of BYU's visiting Welsh professor Leslie Norris, wondered why St. David's Day (March 1) was ignored in Utah. Welsh people had made up such a large part of the western migration in the United States, she said. Fine arts competitions are an integral part of St. David's Day in Wales. The 15 categories in BYU's each with a cash competition prize are ode poetry, lyric poetry, short story, male recitation, female recitation, community choir, church choir, high school choir, female solo ), female solo (21 and (ages male solo older), male solo (21 and older), ceramics, photography and wood carvings. Entrants in music and recitation categories will compete Feb. 28 and perform March 1. A selection of ceramics, photography and wood carving exhibits will be displayed. - - "Falling in Love" is my kind of a movie: poignant, romantic, storybook tale with a happy ending. If it just didn't take so long to get going and if the characters cleaned up their language just a touch, it would really be the kind of movie for all to see. That is if you like love stories and believe in coincidence saving us from ourselves. Y.pu see, both leading characters are already married and although they exhibit great care to explain themselves and declare their innocence, their "Falling In Love" hurts those who already loved them for years. It's a study in human emotion and the costs of falling in love with the wrong person at the wrong time. I enjoy Meryl Streep. I thought Robert De Niro was perfect for his part ; I even felt a little charge there myself for his character. And although it drives you absolutely crazy in places wondering if they will ever get this together, you can't help feeling for them and with them. A gasp goes up when "Molly" pulls back just in time; twice, and a cheer escapes the audience when she is actually in the bookshop again that next Christmas a year later. And the story is simple. Two people meet and fall in love. After that the story is not so simple anymore. It's a timeless idea, superb acting Si special guest will be the Utah and photography and fair direction. I liked the simplicity and the I the honesty. appreciated development of the wife and the husband left behind - they were not painted typically as the spouses that deserved to be left. Two people up in caught something they didn't plan and didn't want to deal with. It mal'es for an interesting albeit somewhat painful story. I wish the producers could have left out the expletives in some of the conversation and I was glad the steamy love scene broke up before it embarrassed me. But overall, it's a good flick. You might want to see it, particularly if you're a romance buff. , FOR 390 E. NHL Eve. 7, 9:15 Sat. I did like parts of it, and some parts very much. But on the whole I was left wondering; does this lady really have a lot of kids? Hasn't she found yet that platitudes and living, breathing, messy and obstinate children don't mix?
