"They're an experienced team with excellent shooters," Ute Coach Lynn o n h i Archibald said. Rebounding has been another sore spot for the Utes, and hopefully with the addition of Raymond back into the lineup Utah will be able to control the boards a little more. The game, which is the 186th meeting of the two teams, will begin at 7:30 p.m. The contest will be broadcast live over KALL show Radio (910 AM), with the beginning at 6 p.m. Utah will then return home for games Nevada-Ren- o against Alabama (Dec. 17) and (Dec. 20). t-7 pre-ga- me Men's and women's basketball will make up a majority of the university's athletic schedule during the two-we- ek Christmas holidays. For evidence I present Chronicle sports editor Mark Saal. Now Mark is a likeable enough guy and knows his way around almost any sport, especially college athletics. But after discovering his methods of selecting NFL teams for the Chronicle's weekly "pigskin picks," I now have new prospectives on how unfair life can be. You see, Saal (90-5- 0 for the year) is comfortably ahead of me and all other staff "experts." But while the others and I seriously contemplate our weekly picks, Mark snatches his from thin air, or they come to him in a dream or he gets an "inside tip" from someone that knows even less than he about what's going on (such a tip helped him to be the lone staff member to correctly pick the BillsColts game last week). Well, enough is enough. This week instead of mulling over NFL statistics, team depth charts and past winloss records against the spread, I am going to try something new. I am adopting the Mark Saal approach to football forecasting. This approach might entail the selection of all home teams, or maybe all the favorites or perhaps I'll stumble on to my own "inside tip." Maybe I'll just select the teams whose colors I like best or whose mascot is most appealing. Bears to squeak by the Pack and the Dolphins to unload on the Colts. The New England Patriots (8-- had a severe blow to their playoff hopes delivered last week by losing to the Cardinals. Now the only way the Pats can clinch a wild card spot is to win their two remaining games while the are losing theirs.
