Hill AFB is fortunate to have who fit into that category and make the base a better place to work, play and live. Those volunteers were recognized at the annual Angel Award presentation held April 18. The Angel Award Program was started in 1988 by Eunice Welch, wife of then Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Larry Welch. "The program recognized all the volunteers who so unselfishly give of that precious commodity time," said Judy Condon, wife of Maj. Gen. Pat Condon, Ogden Air Logistics Center commander. Each year, as part of the program, volunteers are nominated and receive an Angel Award. The winners are announced during the annual presentation. This year, three individuals and one organization were chosen. A Hill AFB "special friend" was also selected.
