Did you know there are many financial services offered by base organizations to help you handle money problems? The base Family Support Center is sponsoring a free financial planning and investment seminar March 12 at the Family Support Center, Bldg. 308. The seminar will run each Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for five weeks and is primarily intended for staff sergeants through master sergeants and their spouses. Other military members e basis. Parmay be accepted on a ticipants will be limited to 20 members per seminar. The seminar will be conducted by volunteer leaders, but will focus on student participation. It will provide financial insight for those interested in putting a "little extra money" to work through savings or investments. Interested personnel may contact the Family Support Center, Ext. 74681. The base Accounting and Finance Office also conducts the Personal Financial Management Program through the Family Support Center for Air Force personnel desiring financial awareness or counsel-- , ing. This program is available to all Air Force personnel, military and civilian, to provide guidance in . managing personal finances. The AFO also offers several services to help personnel with a permanent change of station. They include advanced dislocation allowance, advanced travel pay, advanced travel per diem, and advanced space-availabl- "' Heirfforee military pay. The AFO can even assist in extending the repayment period for these obligations to lessen the financial burden on military members. Personnel may call Ext. 71851 for detailed information. SURE-PAis offered by the AFO to help personnel directly deposit pay to the financial institution of their choice. Financial institutions can also assist military members in starting allotments for savings accounts and the Veterans' Education Assistance Program. Located in Bldg. 308, the Air Force Aid Society provides emergency services to military members. It does not provide assistance for dishonored checks or personal consumer purchases, but it helps provide interest-fre- e loans for personal emergencies like basic maintenance (i.e., rent, food and utilities), essential transportation and emergency leave. These loans are available to retirees as well as active duty members and repayment is based on the member's date of separation and ability to repay. For more information, call Ext. 74681. The American Red Cross, Bldg. 399, also provides interest-fre- e financial assistance to military members during an emergency. Repayment is considered on an individual basis and is based on the member's ability to repay. As with the Air Force Aid Society, certain procedures must be followed when applying for these loans. Contact the Red Cross office, Ext. 71855, for more information. These are some of the financial services available to personnel at Hill AFB.
