Last Sunday afternoon the opening game of the 1948 season was held at Nephi, and it was all it was expected to be. The Pay-soentry tangled with Nephi in this game before an pstimatfH crowd of 500 and it was a "whale r-afrom start to finish. Previous to this game, Nephi and Payson place in the league and with the league leadership at stake both teams put on a baseball sh that many local fans will remember for a iuug nme to come. Cy-nr- ball-gam- e' A strong Cyprus high school baseball team took high honors and the State "B" baseball crown by defeating Juab in the finals by a score of 15 to 8, at Magna on Tuesday of this week.
