PGHS soccer team challenged The Pleasant Grove soccer soc-cer team lost two region contests last week. At Provo April 24, the Bulldogs shut Pleasant Grove out 6-0. 6-0. The week ended with the visiting Springville Red Devils defeating the Vikings 2-1 in overtime. The Provo game was not much of a contest. Despite the best efforts of Shane Mower, Tyler Lynch, and Tyler DenBoer, the Vikings couldn't get any shot into the goal net. In the regulation phase of the Springville game, Brandon Moss scored the first Red Devil goal on a penalty kick. A Shane Mower goal evened the game at one and set the contest into overtime. Red Devil Brad Silvey broke the 1-1 tie in overtime. The Vikings host Timpview tomorrow and close out the region season at Payson Tuesday. That game will likely decide who gets the final state berth from Region 6. Jarrett, a member of the 1994 and 1998 U.S. Nordic Combined teams, encourages encour-ages interested students to enroll now. For only $30, students receive trail passes, pass-es, equipment, and Saturday lessons for the remainder of the winter season. No previous previ-ous experience is required.
