Show OrenvGeneva Times TIMES TV WEEKLY Wednesday, November 29, 1995 BYU Fine Arts and Entertainment Calendar Thursday, November 30-Monday, 30-Monday, Dec. 11 - "Rolling Up Our Sleeves", a suite of original prints produced by Department of Visual Arts students and faculty, will be displayed in the Bent F. Larson Gallery in the Harris Fine Arts Center daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is free. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 1-2 - "Celebration of Christmas", the Department of Music's largest annual Christmas concert, will feature the four top audition choirs BYU Singers, Concert Choir, Men's Chorus, and Women's Chorus as well as -the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra Or-chestra in the de Jong Concert Hall. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. both days, with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday. Tickets are $6 for students, faculty, and staff; $7 for seniors and alumni; and $8 for the general public and are available at the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 378-4322. "Christmas Around the World," BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble's annual performance per-formance of various folk cultures cul-tures throughout the world, is at 7:30 p.m. in the Marriott Center. Wednesday, Dec 6 - "An Evening of Mozarf'he Utah Symphony's second BYU performance perfor-mance this year, will be at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall. Under the direction of Joseph Silverstein, the Symphony will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto Concer-to in B Flat, No. 15, and the Mass in C Minor. BYU faculty members Irene Peery and Clayne Robison will be featured in the concert. Tickets are $10 for students, faculty, and staff; $11 for seniors and alumni; and $12 for the general public and are available at the Fine Arts Ticket Office at (801) 378-4322. The Woodwind Chamber Music Night, a recital of student quartets and one sextet under the direction of Geralyn Giovan-netti, Giovan-netti, will be at 7:30 and 9 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. Admission Ad-mission for the event, which will feature a variety of musical styles, ranging from baroque to contemporary, is free. KEYY announces Christmas classical music KEYY announces some special spe-cial Christmas programming entitled "Christmas with the Classics". KEYY is a non-commercial Christian station located lo-cated at 1450 on the AM Radio Band. The special program is provided by the Moody Broadcasting Broad-casting Network. KEYY is one of over 256 stations affiliated with the network. Each Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. now through December Decem-ber 24, Greg Wheatley will host "Christmas with the Classics". The program is produced by Larry Shackley. This special hour each Sunday afternoon will feature classical vocal and instrumental in-strumental Christmas music from the greatest composers from the Renaissance to the 20th Century. Greg Wheatley is the well-known host of the weeknight program, "Sound of Majesty", which also features classical sacred music. Everyone is invited to tune in for this uplifting and inspiring time with classical Christmas music. |
