Under the direction of Kay Growth Summit to discuss Utah County issues The future of Utah County will be determined by several vital issues. With the next 0 years in mind, the Growth Summit Sum-mit at Utah Valley State College (UVSC) on Nov. 29 and 30 will discuss the issues that impact the , future of Utah County citizens. The issues affecting Utah County's future are water rights, transportation, public education, higher education, air quality, open space and Utah Lake. "We encourage the citizens of Utah County to participate in the summit so that they can share their input and together we can discover the solutions that will benefit tomorrow," said LeRay McAllister, a senator for Utah County. The key note speaker for the opening session of the summit is Stephen R. Covey, founder of the Covey Leadership Center and author of Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and Eksl Things First. The opening session ses-sion will be on Nov. 29 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the UVSC activities ac-tivities center. Following the opening ses- , sion, the Growth Summit on Nov. 29 will divide to discuss the issues of public education, water rights, open space and transportation transpor-tation from 6:30 to 9:30. On Nov. 30, the issues of higher ; education, Utah Lake, and air quality will be discussed from ;-.5:30 ;-.5:30 to 8:30 p.m. With these issues, is-sues, the summit will be resolving resolv-ing the traffic congestion on 1-15 and discussing the future role of UVSC. Also, Utah Lake will ; "now be viewed as a tremendous resource according to Mc-; Mc-; Allister. Further recreational facilities are planned for Utah Lake. The orchestra, conducted by Clyn D. Barrus, will open the concert with Dvorak's Symphony in E Minor, "From the New World". The audience will then be invited in-vited to sing traditional Christmas carols, accompanied by the orchestra. The children's choir, accompanied accom-panied by Marcia Johnson, with Marilyn Rudolph as vocal coach, will open its part of the program with "Dancing Day: A Cycle of Traditional English Christmas Carols", arranged by John Rut-ter. Rut-ter. The cycle includes "Angelus ad Virginem", "Personent Hodie", "Coventry Carol", and "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Danc-ing Day". Janet Peterson will play the harp, and Karin Magleby is soprano sloist. The choir will next perform the director's arrangement of "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming"; "Jesus Christ the Apple Tree", with Jesse Ellis as soprano soloist; and the traditional Spanish "Carol of the Birds". Harri Wessman's "Vesi vasyy lumen alle" ("Water Under Snow is Weary") will be followed by "Ding, Dong! Merrily on High" and Rutter's "Shepherd's Pipe Carol" and "Donkey Carol".
