In addition, Monday, December Decem-ber 11, and Monday, December 18, the window service will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Window service will also be provided this year on Sunday, December 17, from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Customers are being asked to separate holiday cards from other letters before putting them in the mail, according to Adams. That way, they can be sorted more quickly. The majority of the mail is sorted on automated equipment, but handwritten addresses, especially espe-cially those written on dark colored envelopes, are often difficult dif-ficult for the machines to read. If customers separate holiday cards from the rest of the mail, postal employees can get them to the right sorting location, which saves time and provides faster service, Adams said. Adams also reminded mailers to mail early and to always al-ways use a complete address. The city, state, and ZIP CODE should always go on the last line. It is not necessary to use commas com-mas or periods in the address as the mail is more readable without them. And always include in-clude your return address. When mailing your holiday packages. Postmaster Adams suggested the use of Priority mail where practical. Highly visible red, white, and blue envelopes en-velopes and cartons are provided at no cost with this service. ser-vice.
