Show Wednesday, March 14, 2001 The Park Record B-11 Realtors group marks 20th anniversary Seaton Prince Debbie Richter-Elrick Continued from B-9 Associates in 1998. Prince conies from a long family real estate history in Park City. He grew up on "the ranch" in Park Gty - witn me Dig Red Barn -Snow Summit Ranch, which his great grandfather had purchased at a tax sale in the 1940s. Prince graduated gradu-ated from Park City High bchooi witn a graduating class of 62 who had attended Park City schools since kindergarten. His family was involved in land sales for the Park City Golf Course, Thaynes Canyon and Park Meadows. His father developed one of the first hotels in Park City, The Yarrow, and was involved in the development of the Stein Eriksen Lodge. Prince went to the University of the Pacific before returning to finish his college education at the University of Utah and marrying his high-school sweetheart. They have four children and one on the way. Both Prince and his wife, Debbie, have served as chairperson and co-chairperson co-chairperson of the MLS Committee, sharing the responsibilities since 19. The Board's public website, pcmls.com, was developed under their tutelage. Debbie Richter-Elrick of Prudential Coleman Real Estate is second recipient of the 2000 Director's Award. Richter-Elrick joined the board in 1987 with Century 21 Creative Land and Investments. She moved her license to Coldwell Banker Premier in 1989, and then to Prudential Coleman Real Estate in 1990. Richter-Elrick serves as the branch broker of the Prudential Coleman Town Lift Office in the Historic District of Park City and is partnered with her husband, Stephen Elrick. She was born and raised in Montgomery County, Perm., and moved to Park City in 1984 for "just one winter of skiing,'' and never returned home. Stephen joined Debbie's practice in 1991 to help her when she was diagnosed diag-nosed with Hodgkin's, a lymphatic cancer. Richter-Elrick has been triumphant tri-umphant in beating the cancer and has adopted a new motto in life: "Life short, have fun!" Richter-Elrick Richter-Elrick and her husband have traveled trav-eled extensively, experiencing the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary and 1984 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, the World Expo in Vancouver, the Louvre in Paris, among other destinations in a total of 18 countries. Both have served as chairperson and co-chairperson of the MLS Committee, sharing the responsibilities responsibili-ties since 1990. They helped develop the board's public website, pcmls.com. She was also the Utah Association of Realtors Education chairperson and administrative vice president of Education and Conventions. of the Year Troy Stevens of Intermountain Mortgage Company received the LeKoy j. ria Award for 2000, in recognition recog-nition for his outstanding service, support sup-port and participation par-ticipation with the Park City Board of Realtors. Stevens is a liaison for board members. He joined the staff of Intermountain Mortgage Company as a loan officer and the board in 19 after receiving his 5k Stevens Troy graduate degree in Nursing at the University of Missouri. He has volunteered vol-unteered for the Luxury Home Tour for the last four years and assists agents with sponsoring their open houses on a weekly basis. Stevens also volunteers his time with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Park City Performing Arts Board, the National Ability Center, Friends of the Animals, the Park City Historical Society, the Sundance Film Festival and the Utah and U.S. Humane Society. Community Service Award Mel Fletcher received the 2000 Community Recognition Award. Fletcher is commonly known as the "grandfather of skiing" in the Park Gty area for his vision, dedication and relentless pursuit to develop an industry that has changed the makeup make-up and focus of the city lifestyle from early-day mining to a world-class world-class resort.
