Free File is available to 97 million mil-lion taxpayers who earn $54,000 or less. There is no charge for using the service. With just a few answers, people can complete a simple form and use IRS e-file. The IRS also urges all filers to use direct deposit, if they have a checking or savings account, because it is the fastest way to receive a tax rebate. Once people file a tax return, they don't need to do anything more to receive their rebate. The IRS will do the rest. The IRS will begin issuing payments starting in May. Recycling agreement ratified The Uintah County commission com-mission ratified a cost sharing agreement with Vernal City for the local recycling program. Partners to the agreement will help to maintain recycling program which is an essential community-wide effort. Commissioner Dave Haslem noted that the "recycling program pro-gram needed to remain revenue neutral" as the operation's costs are paid for under the landfill budget. With that, commissioners commission-ers agreed to pay any revenues back the landfill department Recycling operations in the Basin may never be self-sustaining. But, as many acknowledge "it is the right thing to do." Recycling offers tangible benefits like the conservation of landfill space and the preservation preserva-tion of natural resources. It is fittingtimingforthecommission to approve the agreement with Earth Day scheduled for April 22. |
