Both teams feature stout pitchers that negated ne-gated Uintah's strength from the box. Head Coach Brent Labium noticed a drop in morale from his team. "As far as morale goes we are struggling right now," said Labrum. "We have not been hitting the ball very well and we have been making crucial errors and our pitchers are giving up too many walks." Despite struggling, Uintah was able to connect with the ball 1 1 times in the loss to Judge Memorial. Including a triple by Landon Lucero. "We had 11 hits against the best pitchers in the state, but we just couldn't put them together to score runs," said Labrum. "Judge doesn't make errors or walkbatters either. Lucero and Josh Curtis have started hitting better lately, so hopefully that will continue." Labrum said his team needs to loosen up during the games. He is trying to keep them from pressuring up before a game. "We need to relax and just have fun," said Labrum. "We have some sickness going through the team and we have some small injuries that we need to take care of also." Judge's eight scores came off 12 hits. Lucero was awarded the loss. Uintah only had one error which was a promising improvement. improve-ment. "Its not like the kids are trying to make mistakes they just need to focus more on the mental part of their because they have some physical talent and we need to be more consistent and cut down on the mistakes," explained Labrum. La-brum. Uintah will face Union in Roosevelt on Friday where they will attempt to end their current streak. Stats were unavailable for the Union-Emery game, the only opponent the two teams have both played so far this season. Union takes on Uintah after coming off a loss to Wasatch.
