DWR to host public seminar By Jason Teeguarden Conservation Officer As many waterfowl hunters and enthusiasts en-thusiasts are aware, the controversy over the use of lead or steel shot for waterfowl hunting has been brewing for many years. In portions of Utah, waterfowl hunters will be required to use steel shot for hunting ducks, geese, swans, coots and snipe during the 1986-87 season. Doubtless, many sportsmen sport-smen have questions about this issue and how it will affect their sport. On Monday, Aug! 25, the DWR will host a public seminar in Vernal on the biological effects of lead poisoning, the effective use of steel shot and waterfowl water-fowl identification. The seminar is intended in-tended to provide information on this issue and what hunters can expect from steel shot loads. The seminar will be held in the commission com-mission chambers of the StateCounty StateCoun-ty building from 7 to 10 p.m. The Division Divi-sion of Wildlife Resources encourages oil interested individuals to attend this seminar to learn more about this important im-portant subject.
