Student Advisory Gommittee. Senior members of the committee are: Danielle Dansie, Shana Kinsey, Deanie McKee, Colt Mortensen, Jeffrey Jef-frey Rust, Steven Rich, and Dirk ' Slade. Juniors: Shauna Mansfield, Carrie Massey, Gordon Limb, Nolan Jepson, Penny Anfinson, Kristy Brady, Emily Davidson, Mike Robinson, Robin-son, Charm Haws, Steve Hatch, and Kenneth Beede. Sophomores: Margaret Rich, Mindy Boren, Jennifer Kunz, Jimmy Strieker, Delene Jenkins, Laura Shaeffer, John Weber, Tonya Schulz, Jennifer Wilkins, Matt Nawahine, and George Murphy. According to Sandra Slade, chairman chair-man for the Advisory, "The goal for this committee is to involve more students and give all students a sense of pride and ownership in the school. . We hope it will provide a forum for communication between students, faculty, teachers and parents." The first meeting of the new student advisory was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 12. Sandra Slade conducted and PTSA President Lynell Anfinson explained ex-plained the purpose and goals of PTSA, as well as the role of the students in PTSA. She also introduced introduc-ed the board members and then the students introduced themselves. The group then discussed a variety of topics, including school policies and ideas for PTSA activities and programs. pro-grams. Many of the students vounteered to work on other PTSA committees, each of which are headed head-ed by a member of the board. The members of the board are Mary Nielson, Health and Safety; Debbie Brady, Individual Development; Marget Kunz, Publicity; Sherril Rich, Teacher Appreciation; Liz Davidson, Hospitality; Maria Robb, Student Involvement; In-volvement; Nema Strieker, Member- Rates for the use of school facilities were approved by the Uintah School Board at their Aug. 14 meeting. The charges shall be applicable to all organizations with the exception of Utah State University, which has a special fee schedule, said Rhoda DeV-ed, DeV-ed, director of Community Schools. Additional fees may be charged for ship; Nita Boren, Fundraising. Diane Johnson represents the faculty on the board. The meeting adjourned with everyone excited about being involved involv-ed after Ted Taylor, district building director, took the group on a complete tour of the high school. At the next student stu-dent advisory committee meetings, two students from each class will be elected to be members of the PTSA board. The six students will have an equal vote on the board. the use of special equipment and services. The standard rental three-hour fee for use of the auditorium at Vernal Middle School, West Jr. High and Vernal Ver-nal Jr. High will be $50. Uintah High School auditorium three-hour rental will be $150. For community fund-raising rental at West Jr. High and Vernal Jr. High the cost will be $75. At Vernal Middle School the rental will be $100 and the high school will be $200. For gymnasium rental at Vernal Middle School, West Jr. High and Vernal Ver-nal Jr. High for the standard three-hour three-hour rental the fee is $50. At Uintah High and Uintah High Stadium the charge for three hours will be $100. For community fund-raising rental the fees are $150 for Vernal Middle School and Vernal Jr. High, $75 for West Jr. High, and $250 for Uintah High. Rental for multi-purpose rooms at all elementaries for three hours is $25; for community fund raising, $75. Cafeteria rental at all schools is $50 for three hours, $100 for community fund raising. All classrooms may be rented for $7 an hour. Community Schol directors on Saturdays or holidays, $15hour. Custodians (beyond regularly scheduled schedul-ed time) $9hour, $15hour on holidays. Cooks, $9hour, $15hour on holidays. Light, sound or stage crew, $4hour per person, $7hour on holidays. Applications to use school facilities for personal fund raising activities must be made to the Board of Education, Educa-tion, DeVed stated. As an incentive to encourage local organizations to offer scholarships to Uintah High School graduates, a differential dif-ferential of $50 will be made in rental fees of the auditoriums and gymnasiums gym-nasiums for fund raising events. The sponsoring organization will give one $100 scholarship with the cost of the scholarship, in reality, only $50 since the use fee will be $50 less. The donor will receive theresulting acknowledgement and publicity for having supported a student through the scholarship program. - Those accepting this offer shall deposit $100 for the scholarship with the Uinth School District's business official of-ficial at the time the building use contract con-tract is signed.
