This is one of the pieces of Japanese art that will be on display at Davis Elementary beginning begin-ning May 9. Japanese children's art An exhibition of Japanese children's art will be on display at Davis Elementary Elemen-tary from May 9 to May 24. This exhibition ex-hibition is part of the Utah Arts Council's Coun-cil's Traveling Exhibition program. The exhibition consists of works which were selected from schools throughout the city of Matsumoto, Japan, and were given to the Salt Lake Sister City committee. Ms. Carolyn Caine, in accepting the gift for Salt Lake City, pledged to share them with as many people as possible. The artwork was done by children six to fourteen years of age and include painting, drawing and printmaking techniques. The pictures reflect the Japanese children's visions of the world around them, and have given much joy and understanding to those who have viewed them. The Traveling Exhibition program is a statewide outreach service of the Utah Arts Council. The program provides pro-vides schools, museums, and galleries throughout the state with over twenty choices of exhibitions which may be booked free of charge for a period of a month.
